Coaches will run their teams differently than others. Some still believe in the traditional, “yelling coach” method to instill lessons in their players more effectively. I remember Sean Payton reminding the whole squad to keep their eyes on the prize: “Don’t eat the cheese!” Success will eat you up before you know it. Pay attention to your character as you approach your biggest milestones... Are you remaining true to yourself, or do you become someone else? Today’s episode will remind you of the narrow-focus you must apply, everywhere you go. Don’t ever play yourself!

(12:46) 2: Keep an honest mentor/coach by your side at all times

(13:07) 3: Identify weaknesses that don't appear, right now

(14:51) 4: Frequently and objectively analyze your training routine, for improvement

(15:44) 5: Identify improvements, daily. Keep track!

(16:05) 6: Tell yourself that YOU GOT THE JUICE!

(16:44) 7: Remind yourself of people who had the juice, but lost it

(17:07) 8: Accept all praise, but take it with a grain of salt

(17:40) 9: Eliminate ALL vices!

(8:40) Willingness, and a commitment to growing at a fast rate = a dominant athlete's best trait

(11:03) The essential qualities of a mentor

(13:46) There are no exceptions for "blind" advice

(15:21) The proper mindset to have before seeking a mentor...

(15:28) Assume that it's better to learn from those who've done it already

(17:05) What a mentor is, in my opinion

(17:50) There's no human that's inherently 'better' than you

(19:12) Don't think that people are 'perfect'

(20:00) A mentor is an influencer of your standards; not a creator

(21:22) Family and friends shouldn't naturally become your mentor

(22:10) Not everything that a good mentor does, should be emulated

(23:15) HOW TO FIND A MENTOR

(23:29) #1: Identify specific areas and skills that you want to master

(24:16) #2: Research the top 3 prospective mentors in your category (globally)

(24:46) #3: Buy their books or programs, and learn as much as possible

(25:20) #3.5: Identify the top 3 prospective mentors in your category (in your area)

(25:55) PRO TIP: Put their skills into practice and share your results with them

(27:41) #4: Repetition! | "50th Law" by Robert Greene & 50 Cent

(29:22) Identify a current mentor, and evaluate these questions...

(30:05) Why do you listen to your current mentor?

(30:45) What have they done, that YOU want to do?

(31:04) What's their advice/perspective coming from?

(32:06) Do they deserve to sound as sure as they are?

(32:22) What are their 'fruits'?
